Stash Cans, Secret Hiding Places

February 21st, 2012

Why Should You Use Stash Cans?

In the US, a burglary takes place every 14.6 seconds. Therefore, stash cans are one of the best secret hiding places for your valuables.

Did you know that out of the total number of burglaries that happen in the US, 65.8% are residential? In fact, according to 2007 data, victims of burglary had estimated an overall property loss of $4.3 billion! Most burglars do not spend more than 8 – 12 minutes in a home. Within this short time span, they generally look out for the common hideouts, such as safes and lockers. Therefore, it is important that you use diversions safes, such as stash cans instead of opting for the most common secret hiding places in your home.

I would recommend the use of stash cans for three main reasons; the first being, that they are inexpensive. Installing an alarm security system would cost you a fortune. The price range of the stash cans will vary from $6 to $30, depending on your storage needs. Another reason for buying stash cans is that they can get camouflaged very easily since they look and weigh like original products. In fact, the best way to hide your valuables from burglars is to keep them in plain sight. Burglars usually would not waste time searching unpredictable options, rather they go with the more predictable ones. So, your valuables remain unnoticed. In addition to this, stash cans offer extra protection in terms of the difficulty level of opening it. These accessories have an in-built lid which takes time to open.

To cater to your storage needs stash cans are available in different sizes and shapes, such as a Coca Cola bottle, flower pot, hair brush and lint roller. You can find diversion safes resembling bottle cleaners, iced tea packs, hair spray, perfume or hand wash bottles, packed food cans, sugar shaker, thermometer and even a of rock!

Crime In America

February 20th, 2012

Today I was doing a little research and came across a website that I will be providing you a link to so you can check it out. Once you get there scroll down to the section titled “Two Kinds of Criminal Offenders”.

I found the article on this site to be very useful information and really got me thinking about the line of products I carry such as stash cans with a hidden compartment and the other various diversion safes that you will find at.

This portion of the article talked about two different kinds of criminal offenders. Most people don’t realize that when a criminal leaves his or her home. The first criminal leaves their home with a plan to commit a crime and probably has a thought out plan. The other is the opportunist and this is the one that got my attention because this criminal is responsible for the majority of our losses of valuables in our homes and cars.

This article really talks about how to prevent yourself from being a victim of one these opportunity crimes by paying attention to what your doing but I also want to point out that you can add additional security in the way you hide your valuables. As stated already you should pay attention to what your doing but you also need to know how to hide valuables or hide money. You would be surprised how much hidden stash has been saved from a simple soda can safe.

If you have been following any of my post here on this blog you probably have a good idea of the importance of the use of stash cans but I really think you should read the article located at Crime in America.Net

Please go check out this article and educate yourself on not becoming a victim.

The Magician’s Slight of Hand Part 2

February 17th, 2012

In Part 1, we talked about how to hide your valuables in plain sight so as to fool a robber into believing nothing is there. We talked about several ways you can learn how to hide valuables and now I want to point out some simple ideas using different stash cans and diversion tactics.

Take a moment and think about every room in your home and think about how to hide money or what would be a great diversion for your hidden stash. Think about each room and where you can hide stash and where are the places a thief would probably look first.

Now let’s use that information to think about secret hiding places or better yet a hidden compartment.

Here are a few ideas that you could use but don’t limit your imagination to these because the list of stash cans and other diversion safes are far more than what I’m about to suggest, this is just to get you thinking about what you can do.

Here are some ideas for several rooms of your home:

Bathroom: Try a hairbrush with a hidden compartment

Bedroom: The trusty soda can safes such as Coca Cola, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, 7 UP and A&W Root Beer work great. (If you maintain a squeaky clean bedroom you might not want to do this one). Another great one would be a wall socket diversion safe (they cost about $6 and can be installed in minutes and are perfect for jewelry and money).

Den: The Book Safe in the den is an awesome choice.

Laundry Room: Now here is a great product that a thief will never think about (there’s always the possibility they may stop and use it if their worried about their appearance). A Lint Roller diversion safe is a very good slight of hand diversion especially in the laundry room.

Kitchen: The ideas for the kitchen are numerous but think about a can of Oven Cleaner to hide stash. The bottom unscrews to hide your valuables and is weighted to feel like the real thing.

Living Room: The Wall Socket hidden compartment is absolutely my first choice especially for jewelry or to hide money.

Garage: This is another area were the list for slight of hand diversion safes are almost limitless. Try something like the JB Oil Treatment stash can.

4 Unique Features of Can Safes

With instances of robbery occurring every one minute in the US, it is extremely important to keep diversion safes at home to dodge home invaders. Since hiding valuables in plain sight reduces the chances of robbery, diversion safes have gained popularity as an effective medium to hide money. Soda can safes are designed exactly like popular soft drink cans, such as Coke, Sprite and 7up to dodge the robbers. Apart from this major benefit, find out about the primary features attributed to stash cans.

Top 4 Features of Can Safe Used to Hide Money

Here are the main features of can safes that make these diversion safes a popular medium to hide money:

  1. Hiding valuables in plain sight, i.e., inside pen holders or vases, may keep them from the eyes of robbers. However, mishandling, shaking or even lifting such items can easily make the valuables conspicuous to home invaders. Hidden compartments inside the can safe let you store the valuables tightly and the lid on top prevents the stash from falling out when shaken.
  2. The material used to design a can safe is aluminum or durable plastic in most cases, which make diversion safes extremely durable. You can be assured of the safety of your valuables stored inside for a long time.
  3. Secret soda safes are portable. Additionally, these secret safes can be placed in the car so that you money and other valuables are safe while you are traveling.
  4. Another striking feature of such diversion safes is that these are affordable. While those who cannot afford expensive alarm systems or armed watchmen can find a cheap way of protecting their valuables with a can safe, affluent customers find and buy these as additional safes.

You must bank on websites which offer some kind of quality assurances, such as money back guarantees with dissatisfaction of merchandise.

Why Are Stash Cans Recommended to Hide Money

Why Should You Use Stash Cans to Hide Money

Being a proud US military veteran and prior U.S. Army Sargent, I understand the importance of being able to protect one’s own self and valuables. The training of the 101st Screaming Eagles Air Assault/ Airborne Division of the US army has helped me to learn and gain expertise in self defense and diversion tactics. Witnessing the increasing crime rate in my neighborhood and seeing wealthy elders becoming victims to house invasions, I thought of launching a diversion safe line. Unlike burglary, home invasions can have a violent intent. Therefore, it is not advisable to struggle with robbers for saving valuables. However, adopting stash cans or diversion safes can prove extremely useful.

In fact, I remember one of my close friends telling me about a home invasion incident where the couple living alone in a posh area in New York City lost a lot of money to the robbers. However, as the robbers left, the couple found valuable jewelry lying inside a pen holder. Cases like this strengthened my belief that we must hide money in plain sight.

4 Benefits of Using Stash Cans

Let’s discuss some of the main benefits of utilizing stash cans. These are also the reasons due to which I launched the comprehensive product line to hide money:

  • The hidden compartment inside stash cans do not let out stored valuables easily on shaking or even on mishandling.

  • Affluent house owners who have expensive alarm systems, armed watchmen and security of a dog at home can have additional security for their valuables. In fact, this technique eliminates the need to defend yourself!

  • Since cases of road robberies are also not uncommon in the US, soda can safe can also be used to hide money while traveling in the car.

  • Diversion is an effective tactic which is taught in the US army. The same tactic can be effectively employed in diversion can safes too. Robbers can be easily distracted by the soda can safes which are inspired from popular soft drink brands, such as Coca Cola, Sprite, 7up.

The Magician’s Slight of Hand (Part 1of 4)

February 13th, 2012

How did a famous magician with several hundred dollars in his pocket fool a robber into believing his pockets were empty?

We may never know the answer to that… but:

Did you know you can do the same thing?

Did you know you can hide your valuables in plain sight and fool the robber of your home into believing nothing is there?

That’s Right – Learn How to Hide Valuables Right out in Plain Sight

Here are some awesome ideas for slight of hand techniques on how to hide valuables using different types of stash cans:

Your Refrigerator or Kitchen Table?  (It Doesn’t Really Matter)  Stick it Out There in Plain Sight

  • Diversions that are inspired from the soda can safe, such as Coca-Cola, 7up & Sprite, can be purchased for secret hiding places while sitting out on the coffee table or on the kitchen counter or anywhere that seems natural and not out of place. Studies have shown that hidden stash left out in the open while using items with a hidden compartment work better than your sock drawer. You can also keep the beer stash cans and iced tea cans as well as the soda can safes inside the refrigerator.

  • In Plain Sight means exactly that, stash cans, book safes or whatever diversion safe you choose shouldn’t be hidden. It is a diversion or a magician’s slight of hand and should be used that way. A thief isn’t looking for a cold drink or a can of engine degreaser, they are looking to see where you are hiding your valuables and they think they already know where to look and have a limited amount of time.

Concealment Devices For Protecting Your Valuables

February 6th, 2012

If you ever wonder how well your cherished valuables are hid from a potential loss from burglary you might be surprised that they aren’t. I talk to people all the time and I’m constantly amazed that people tell me their grandmother’s cherished necklace is safe because it isn’t kept in the jewelery box. Well I guess that’s a good start but after the conversation continues and I find out they keep these items stuffed in a sock in their sock drawer.

Another thing I found interesting is a guy who has rare gold coins in a mason jar that’s stored in the commode tank. I hate to be the one to tell you this but come om, thats one of the first places a burglar will look and a mason jar come om. A burglar can see the coins inside and he’s hit paydirt in less than 30 seconds after entering your home.

Here is a bit of advice I would like to give to everyone I talk to, Don’t Hide Your Valuables in the usual places like the mattress, the toilet or in furniture drawers. If you do you might as well pile it all up on the kitchen table with a note, please go ahead and have these, I left them out so you wouldn’t have to mess up my nice clean house.

Now here is a few things you might want to consider. First if you have a rare collection of gold coins that’s worth thousands you might want to get a safety deposit box at your local bank.

There are other things in your home you can do and one of my favorite is diversion safes. A family heirloom wood be well hidden in a book safe especially if you like to read and have a collection of books around the house. Soda can safes as well as other look real food containers are another great tool to hide your valuables. A household cleaner that looks and weighs like the real thing will fool a burglar when they walk into the bathroom or look under the sink cabinets.

There are auto cleaner products and other diversion safes that look like the real thing that can be left out in plain site in the utility room or the garage that a burglar will never take the time to look for because chances are he’s looking for the obvious and doesn’t have a lot of time.

Please feel free to visit our product pages and explore the many different types of diversion safes we have for your personal security.
