Few Habits to Adopt to Hide Money from Robbers/Burglars

You may lose your secret stash forever due to carelessness. Make the most of diversion safes to hide money by adopting a few simple habits.

So now that you have bought a number of diversion safes for your house, I am sure you would want to know the best ways to make the most of them. I hope you are not assuming that diversion safes are used just to hide money and secret stash that you rarely use and preserve them. Items that you use on a daily basis but hold high value for you should also be safely secured in stash cans. In order to do that systematically, you can get into the practice of doing a few things that will help you feel assured.

What to Do to Make the Most of Secret Stash Cans

In order to hide money securely, get accustomed to using diversion safes when:

Leaving the house

Just like you would check all the doors and windows, lock the house and turn off the electrical points, you should get into the practice of checking diversion safes too. If you are in the habit of keeping your monthly budget safe in stash cans and taking out some of it for shopping, make sure you close the safes properly. In fact, check all the stash cans and make sure all of them are closed properly and kept in appropriate places. For example, degreaser cans should be in the store room whereas toilet bowl cleaner should be in the bathroom.

Sleeping at night

Women who take off their jewelry before sleeping and keep it near the bed should get habituated to keeping precious jewels in hidden compartments of the stash cans near their bed. You can keep soda can and cookie tub diversion safes near the bed as normally people would drink and eat on their bed while watching TV. However, refrain from doing the same to degreaser cans.

These are small practices which help homeowners hide money and other type of secret stash from burglars and robbers. With these, I hope you are able to make the most of your purchase.

Benefits of Secret Stash Cans for College Students

I once became a target of home robbery while I was attending Austin Peay State University in Clarksville Tennessee. Although, it is less likely to find a lot of cash or valuables at a student’s rental apartment, there are chances of losing articles of great sentimental value. In my case, I lost a whole glass jar full of pocket change, a few more bucks and a precious homemade knife made by my uncle. Let me tell you why I believe that students living alone can benefit from secret stash cans after the robbery that I became a victim to in my college days.

Use of Secret Stash Cans for Students Who Live Alone

Here is how different diversion safes can be used to keep secret stash and valuables at a student’s rental apartment:

When I entered my ransacked house, I had realized that while my bathroom was not searched at all, the kitchen was superficially checked. Diversion safes that are identical to dried soup jars, lemonade mix, soft drink cans and coffee mate creamer can be used to hide pocket change. Students can even use bathroom cleaners, hairsprays, hair brush diversion safes and keep them in the bathroom.

I would not have lost my precious knife had I known about the secret stash cans back then. However, today students can store items, like pens, bracelets, charms and wrist watch and any other unique item in the hidden compartments of different types of diversion safes.

Students who are living alone can afford any type of diversion safe easily as they are priced as low as $10.

How Mr. and Mrs. Stiller Benefited From Can Safes

March 3rd, 2012

To save valuables from thieves, you must make it difficult for them to guess the site of hidden stash. Find out how the Stillers use can safes.

How Mr. and Mrs. Stiller Benefit From Can Safes

Mr. and Mrs. Stiller, a couple in their 50s, live alone in a house near Casablanca. They had their share of agony when they found cash and valuables worth over $3,000 missing from their house after returning from a family event at 2am. However, as they started evaluating the house for the lost valuables, they realized the kitchen was searched very carelessly and the bathrooms appeared completely untouched. This gave them the idea of using can safes.

Since they made the common mistake of keeping their locker key under the mattress the robbers cleared all that they had in the locker! Of course, a few hundred dollars kept along with the locker keys were also taken away. However, the Stillers who are now one of our happy clients, told me how a few bucks randomly kept in a pen holder got missed by the robbers.

What Type of Can Safes Are the Stillers Using?

Find out what type of can safes the Stillers are currently using to keep their various types of valuables safe:

When I elaborated on the various benefits of using can safes, they were completely enthralled by it. Furthermore, I advised them to buy a few kitchen diversion safes, such as a peanut butter jar, chocolate fudge, dried soup jar and lemonade mix. Mrs. Stiller keeps her cocktail rings and bracelets inside them. On the other hand, they thought about buying a few engine degreaser diversion safes and throwing them randomly in the store room which would keep their emergency cash safe.

Fortunately, the Stillers have never become victims of home invasion after that one incident. However, they are now able to step out and enjoy family and other social events wholeheartedly with hidden stash hidden inside different can safes.

There are a whole range of diversion safes to keep valuables and money. You can read other blogs on the website for different ideas to keep the hidden stash away from the robbers/burglars’ reach or search our website for multiple ideas. What works for you and your family may be completely different for someone else but we have plenty of options. Look around your home and just use your imagination.

Stash Cans, Secret Hiding Places

February 21st, 2012

Why Should You Use Stash Cans?

In the US, a burglary takes place every 14.6 seconds. Therefore, stash cans are one of the best secret hiding places for your valuables.

Did you know that out of the total number of burglaries that happen in the US, 65.8% are residential? In fact, according to 2007 data, victims of burglary had estimated an overall property loss of $4.3 billion! Most burglars do not spend more than 8 – 12 minutes in a home. Within this short time span, they generally look out for the common hideouts, such as safes and lockers. Therefore, it is important that you use diversions safes, such as stash cans instead of opting for the most common secret hiding places in your home.

I would recommend the use of stash cans for three main reasons; the first being, that they are inexpensive. Installing an alarm security system would cost you a fortune. The price range of the stash cans will vary from $6 to $30, depending on your storage needs. Another reason for buying stash cans is that they can get camouflaged very easily since they look and weigh like original products. In fact, the best way to hide your valuables from burglars is to keep them in plain sight. Burglars usually would not waste time searching unpredictable options, rather they go with the more predictable ones. So, your valuables remain unnoticed. In addition to this, stash cans offer extra protection in terms of the difficulty level of opening it. These accessories have an in-built lid which takes time to open.

To cater to your storage needs stash cans are available in different sizes and shapes, such as a Coca Cola bottle, flower pot, hair brush and lint roller. You can find diversion safes resembling bottle cleaners, iced tea packs, hair spray, perfume or hand wash bottles, packed food cans, sugar shaker, thermometer and even a of rock!

Crime In America

February 20th, 2012

Today I was doing a little research and came across a website that I will be providing you a link to so you can check it out. Once you get there scroll down to the section titled “Two Kinds of Criminal Offenders”.

I found the article on this site to be very useful information and really got me thinking about the line of products I carry such as stash cans with a hidden compartment and the other various diversion safes that you will find at.

This portion of the article talked about two different kinds of criminal offenders. Most people don’t realize that when a criminal leaves his or her home. The first criminal leaves their home with a plan to commit a crime and probably has a thought out plan. The other is the opportunist and this is the one that got my attention because this criminal is responsible for the majority of our losses of valuables in our homes and cars.

This article really talks about how to prevent yourself from being a victim of one these opportunity crimes by paying attention to what your doing but I also want to point out that you can add additional security in the way you hide your valuables. As stated already you should pay attention to what your doing but you also need to know how to hide valuables or hide money. You would be surprised how much hidden stash has been saved from a simple soda can safe.

If you have been following any of my post here on this blog you probably have a good idea of the importance of the use of stash cans but I really think you should read the article located at Crime in America.Net

Please go check out this article and educate yourself on not becoming a victim.

The Magician’s Slight of Hand Part 2

February 17th, 2012

In Part 1, we talked about how to hide your valuables in plain sight so as to fool a robber into believing nothing is there. We talked about several ways you can learn how to hide valuables and now I want to point out some simple ideas using different stash cans and diversion tactics.

Take a moment and think about every room in your home and think about how to hide money or what would be a great diversion for your hidden stash. Think about each room and where you can hide stash and where are the places a thief would probably look first.

Now let’s use that information to think about secret hiding places or better yet a hidden compartment.

Here are a few ideas that you could use but don’t limit your imagination to these because the list of stash cans and other diversion safes are far more than what I’m about to suggest, this is just to get you thinking about what you can do.

Here are some ideas for several rooms of your home:

Bathroom: Try a hairbrush with a hidden compartment

Bedroom: The trusty soda can safes such as Coca Cola, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, 7 UP and A&W Root Beer work great. (If you maintain a squeaky clean bedroom you might not want to do this one). Another great one would be a wall socket diversion safe (they cost about $6 and can be installed in minutes and are perfect for jewelry and money).

Den: The Book Safe in the den is an awesome choice.

Laundry Room: Now here is a great product that a thief will never think about (there’s always the possibility they may stop and use it if their worried about their appearance). A Lint Roller diversion safe is a very good slight of hand diversion especially in the laundry room.

Kitchen: The ideas for the kitchen are numerous but think about a can of Oven Cleaner to hide stash. The bottom unscrews to hide your valuables and is weighted to feel like the real thing.

Living Room: The Wall Socket hidden compartment is absolutely my first choice especially for jewelry or to hide money.

Garage: This is another area were the list for slight of hand diversion safes are almost limitless. Try something like the JB Oil Treatment stash can.
